Galanthus woronowii 7/8

Galanthus woronowii 7/8

Glossy-leaved species snowdrop. Vigorous and hardy, ideal for naturalising in lawns, under trees, and shaded borders. Early and reliable in Irish soil.

Description

Galanthus woronowii is a robust species snowdrop known for its broad, glossy green leaves and crisp white nodding flowers with soft green markings. Native to the Caucasus, this early-flowering bulb is exceptionally well suited to the Irish climate, performing reliably in moist, humus-rich soils and cool, shaded environments.

Its lush foliage adds depth and shine to woodland-style schemes, while its strong naturalising habit makes it a popular choice for public spaces, estates, and biodiversity-focused projects. G. woronowii establishes quickly and returns year after year with minimal care.

Best used in mass drifts beneath deciduous trees or scattered through naturalised grass, especially when combined with Cyclamen coum, Eranthis hyemalis, and early Chionodoxa.
