Description
Eremurus robustus is the giant of the Foxtail Lily family, reaching heights of 2.4–2.7 metres with huge tapering spires of soft pink to pale lilac-white flowers. Flowering in early summer, this species brings unrivalled vertical scale and movement to expansive borders, formal designs, and prairie-style layouts.
Native to Central Asia, E. robustus requires full sun and well-drained soil, performing best in open, wind-sheltered areas. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and long-lived. Landscapers favour this species for use in estate gardens, public parks, and anywhere where scale and drama are needed with minimal upkeep.
Stunning when planted en masse, or used as focal points within meadow-style perennial mixes. Combine with tall Alliums for maximum architectural impact.
