Description
Allium convallarioides Yellow brings a warm yellow note to spring and early summer displays, producing bright star shaped flowers that read well from a distance and help carry colour through mixed bulb and perennial schemes. It is especially useful in Irish planting where cheerful colour is needed without the bulk of larger alliums, making it suitable for roadside displays, hotel grounds, public borders, gravel gardens and domestic landscapes that need a compact and manageable bulb. The open flower shape is attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, adding biodiversity value to ornamental planting while still delivering a crisp, professional finish. Best results come in full sun and reasonably free draining soil, where the stems rise neatly through foliage and combine well with blue muscari, low nepeta, dwarf grasses and silver leaved perennials. The yellow colouring also makes this variety a strong partner for naturalistic planting plans where it can brighten the base layer and bring a lively seasonal signal into the design.
