Allium vineale Hair

Allium vineale Hair

Small Flowering

Description

Hair is a special allium variety. The flower resembles a punk rocker’s head of hair on a good day! When this allium starts to flower, the petals are still short and tidy, but soon they grow into a wild head of hair. The flower umbels bear purple centres from which grows the tendrils or hair-like green extension. Plant in a sunny, well soiled area in gardens or flowerbeds between perennials or roses or at the edge of the border. They combine well with other spring bulbs in a pot on a patio or balcony. Makes a good underplanting for roses and shrubs.
