Ornithogalum Sochii

Ornithogalum Sochii

Rare Caucasus species with white star-like flowers. Compact and early-flowering. Ideal for collectors, rock gardens, and low meadow schemes and sustainable public planting schemes.

Description

Ornithogalum sochii is a lesser-known, refined species originating from the Caucasus region near Sochi. Producing upright white flowers with green midlines, it flowers in early spring and remains compact in habit.  It is well suited to small-scale planting schemes, collectors’ gardens, or low, naturalised pockets.

It thrives in free-draining soil and full sun or light dappled shade, where it multiplies gently without becoming invasive. Ideal for gravel beds, alpine lawns, or under deciduous trees where other early bulbs can be layered for impact.
