Description
Tulip Orange Marmelade is a late tulip with strong warmth, colour depth and the distinctive green markings of the Viridiflora group. The flowers carry layered tones of apricot, mandarin orange, papaya orange, soft yellow and occasional dusky pink, with vertical green flames running through the petals. This gives Orange Marmelade a sunset-like colour effect while keeping the fresh green detail that defines Viridiflora tulips.
Orange Marmelade is best used where warm colour is needed without the heavy look of plain orange bedding tulips. It suits hotel entrances, estate borders, civic planters, public garden beds, courtyard containers, business frontages and premium mixed bulb schemes. The orange and green combination works well with cream tulips, dark purple tulips, blue muscari, late narcissus, alliums and other green-flamed tulips.
The colour is not flat so it is very useful for premium Irish displays where the planting needs to look designed rather than purely functional. Orange Marmelade is a good option for cared-for beds and planters where its colour changes and green petal markings can be seen clearly.
