Description
Organic Species Tulip Tarda is a sustainably sourced compact botanical tulip for planting where early spring brightness, low height and naturalising character are required. The flowers are star-shaped, with golden-yellow centres and white petal tips. It has a more open and starry appearance than many small species tulips, creating a light, sparkling effect when planted in groups through gravel, raised beds, containers and border fronts.
Tarda is best used where visitors can see the flowers from close range or from above. It suits courtyard containers, raised planters, gravel borders, public garden collections, estate path edges, hotel garden details, rockery-style beds and compact commercial landscapes. Its low height means it should be placed at the front of a scheme rather than behind taller narcissus or hybrid tulips.
Tarda works well with blue muscari, early crocus, low narcissus, white species tulips, fine grasses, pale yellow botanical tulips and simple spring perennials.
