Description
Fringed Tulip New Santa is a decorative tulip with sharp colour contrast and a more unusual petal finish than standard smooth-edged varieties. The flowers are rich red with heavily fringed white edges, giving each bloom a frosted, serrated outline. The contrast is clean and immediate: red provides the main colour impact, while the white fringe defines the edge of every petal. RH
Tulip New Santa is best used where the flower detail can be seen properly. It suits civic planters, hotel entrances, estate paths, public garden borders, courtyard containers, business frontages and Tidy Towns displays. The red-and-white colouring gives a strong, festive-looking contrast, but in spring planting it works equally well as a clean graphic feature in formal beds and commercial schemes.
New Santa can be planted as a single-variety block for a bold red and white display, or combined with white tulips, red tulips, dark purple tulips, blue muscari and late narcissus for a more layered spring scheme.
Fringed tulips have finely cut petal edges that may be simple or densely textured, often contrasting with the main flower colour, so they are best positioned where the edging will be visible.
