Tulip Groenland 12/+

Tulip Groenland 12/+

Viridiflora tulip with blush-pink petals and bold green feathering. Late-spring flowering. Ideal for borders, cottage gardens, and artistic planting schemes.

Description

Tulip Groenland is a refined viridiflora tulip, prized for its softly blushed pink petals streaked with prominent green feathering. This distinctive colour combination offers a gentle yet striking look, bringing an artistic, hand-painted quality to late-spring borders. The blooms open into a slightly flared cup shape, providing textural variety and complementing both pastel and bold planting palettes.

Reaching 50–55 cm in height, Groenland thrives in full sun or light shade and prefers fertile, free-draining soils that hold moisture in spring without becoming waterlogged. It’s particularly effective in cottage garden schemes, mixed perennial borders, woodland edges, and heritage-style displays where natural charm is key. The blooms are long-lasting, holding both form and colour well into May.

Its open form allows for moderate late-season pollinator access, making it a valuable addition to biodiversity-friendly designs. Pair with late-flowering alliums, or Camassia for layered structure and extended seasonal interest. For high-end planting compositions, mix with white tulips or deep purples to amplify contrast.
