Description

Single Late Tulip Dordogne is a tall, warm-toned tulip for planting where the display needs height, elegance and late spring colour. It gives a different effect from compact Triumph tulips or early Fosteriana varieties, carrying large goblet-shaped flowers above the planting and extending the tulip season into May. The long-lasting flowers blend tangerine, rose, apricot, orange and yellow, with a glowing interior that gives the bloom real depth as it opens. Dordogne is a tall tulip, growing to around 65cm, with smooth green foliage.

Tulip Dordogne is especially useful where late-season displays need a warmer and more sophisticated colour mix than plain orange or pink tulips. It suits estate borders, hotel gardens, civic beds, public garden displays, courtyard planters, commercial frontages, wedding venues and large seasonal planting schemes. The tall stems and large flowers give strong visibility, while the mixed warm tones prevent the display from looking flat. As a taller Single Late tulip, Dordogne is best placed in managed borders, formal beds and sheltered planters where its height and flower shape can be used properly.

Dordogne combines well with dark purple tulips, burgundy tulips, blue muscari, cream narcissus, soft pink tulips, yellow tulips and late alliums.
