Description
Triumph Tulip Calgary is a compact white tulip for planting where a neat, reliable spring display is needed without the height of larger landscape tulips. Its low growth and clean flower colour make it especially useful for planters, front-of-border schemes, formal bed edges and close-view public spaces. The flowers are ivory-white to cream, with warm creamy-yellow flame markings through the petals and grows to approximately 30cm high, with fragrant cream blooms flamed yellow, for full sun and moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
Calgary is useful where white is required but a pure stark white would look too plain. It suits civic planters, hotel entrance containers, estate border fronts, public garden edges, courtyard displays, school grounds, memorial planting and commercial frontages. Its shorter height makes it easier to use in exposed or smaller beds than taller tulips, while the pale colouring gives brightness in changeable spring light. This makes it a practical choice for repeat planting in containers and tidy formal schemes.
Calgary combines well with Candy Prince, blue muscari, white narcissus, soft yellow tulips, pale pink tulips, dark purple tulips and compact early spring bedding.
