Description
Tulip Brown Sugar is a unique Triumph tulip with smoky copper-orange petals that shimmer with golden bronze and rosewood undertones. Blooming mid-spring (typically mid to late April) at 45–50 cm tall, its blooms offer a glowing warmth and a lightly spicy, floral fragrance, making it a highly sought-after choice for atmospheric spring designs.
It thrives in full sun in well-drained, humus-rich soil with neutral to slightly acidic pH. Performs well in mixed borders, formal beds, and colour-controlled schemes that favour rich, earthy tones. Its refined colouring complements brickwork, oak timbers, sandstone paths, and rustic hardscapes beautifully.
Excellent when combined with warm companion tulips such as Slawa, Request, or Prinses Irene. Brown Sugar also provides an exceptional cut flower, with strong stems and good vase life.
Its lightly scented, semi-open form supports moderate pollinator interaction, especially hoverflies and queen bees visiting mid-season flowering borders. Plant alongside low spring herbs to enhance biodiversity value.
Use in clusters of 10–25 bulbs for dense colour drift or stagger across beds for layered structure. Ideal for boutique hotels, artisan gardens, or public beds where understated richness is preferred.
