Description
Scilla siberica ‘Spring Beauty’ is a vivid cobalt-blue form of Siberian Squill, prized for its intense early spring colour and compact size. Flowering from February to March, it brings reliable ground-level impact to lawns, gravel gardens, and woodland margins.
This hardy bulb naturalises easily in Irish conditions, returning stronger each year in full sun or dappled shade. It pairs beautifully with other early bulbs like Galanthus nivalis (common snowdrop), Chionodoxa forbesii (Glory of the Snow), and Eranthis hyemalis (Winter Aconite) for a layered late-winter display. For a vibrant blue mix, combine with Muscari armeniacum, or contrast with Narcissus ‘Tête-à-Tête’ and Crocus tommasinianus for rich colour succession.
Performs reliably in Irish conditions and returns year after year with minimal input. Ideal for low-maintenance naturalising, school grounds, or biodiversity-focused planting in public and private spaces alike.
