Description
Organic Narcissus Quail is a golden, multi-headed jonquilla cultivar known for its rich fragrance, strong colour saturation, and extended flowering window. Each 25–35 cm stem carries clusters of 2–4 bright yellow blooms with rounded petals and a short cup. With a lightly spicy scent and long vase life, it’s a workhorse for organic cutting gardens and low-input naturalistic design.
It thrives in sunny locations with light, fertile soil — particularly well-suited to the fringes of community orchards, fruit tree rows, or allotment margins. Its high nectar value and bloom abundance make it popular with bees, especially solitary species active in mid-spring. Reliable naturaliser in both turf and perennial groundcover layers.
Pair with Fritillaria meleagris, Camassia quamash, or low grasses for contrast and movement. Highly adaptable to organic meadows, verge sides, and school pollinator projects.
