Description
Galanthus nivalis, or Common Snowdrop, is a single, nodding, bell-shaped white flower with six petals, the top of the three inner leaves are marked in green and sit atop narrow, strappy, greyish green leaves. This extraordinarily hardy flower should be planted in shady, moist, but well drained areas in gardens, borders, beds, meadows, rock gardens, woodlands or as underplanting of shrubs or under trees. One of the first flowers to appear regardless of the weather and actually blooms longer in colder, gloomier weather. A most popular naturalizer that will create an early season sea of white.
