Description
Galanthus nivalis is the classic common snowdrop and remains one of the most useful bulbs for creating early spring carpets in shaded ground. It is highly suitable for woodland planting, lawns beneath deciduous trees, estate drives and biodiverse underplanting where a traditional naturalised look is required. For horticulturists and councils, it offers strong long term value because it can be planted in large quantity and left to establish over time with relatively little intervention. Its very early flowers also provide one of the first nectar and pollen sources for pollinators in the season.
