Crocus Jeanne d´Arc 8/9

Crocus Jeanne d´Arc 8/9

Elegant white large-flowered crocus with golden centres. Perfect for naturalising in lawns, borders, and formal spring displays.

Description

Crocus Jeanne d’Arc is a refined Dutch crocus cultivar producing large, cup-shaped white flowers with bright golden-orange anthers. It flowers from early to mid-March, making it an ideal candidate for layering into formal borders, lawn planting, or naturalistic schemes where clarity and contrast are important. The slight lilac feathering on the outer petals gives it extra depth and texture, particularly striking in low morning light.

It thrives in Irish conditions where cool, moist winters and bright spring light help early bulbs flourish. When planted in drifts, it pairs beautifully with blue-flowered bulbs such as Scilla siberica or Chionodoxa forbesii, and contrasts dramatically with the rich purples of Crocus Flower Record or Pickwick. It’s also effective when used beneath deciduous trees, where it receives full sun before the canopy fills in.
