Crocus angustifolius

Crocus angustifolius

Golden yellow flowers with deep bronze feathering. Hardy and early-flowering, ideal for gravel gardens, containers, and alpine planting.

Description

Crocus angustifolius is a striking species crocus known for its narrow foliage and golden-yellow petals dramatically streaked with bronze or mahogany. It flowers early—typically February to March—and performs well even in challenging conditions.

Perfect for alpine beds, gravel gardens, rockeries, or troughs. The narrow, grass-like foliage blends well with low groundcovers or can be tucked between paving and stonework for a soft, naturalised effect.

Pairs well with Eranthis cilicica, Iris reticulata,or Anemone blanda for an colourful, early show.
