Allium scorodoprasum Art

Allium scorodoprasum Art

Small Flowering

Description

Allium Art is a special variety. When this allium starts to flower, the petals are still short and tidy, but soon they grow into a wild head of hair. They are actually all young bulbs with green shoots on a wiry stem. When the “flower” is ripe, they fall onto the ground where they try to grow further. This allium attracts butterflies and bees during flowering. Art is easy to grow in full sun in fertile soil in gardens or beds. Makes an unusual cut flower. Suitable for naturalising.
