Allium cowanii

Allium cowanii

A delicate, early summer flowering allium with white, star-shaped blooms. Allium cowanii naturalises well and is ideal for meadow-style borders, mixed planting schemes, or pollinator-friendly beds.

Description

Allium cowanii (sometimes referred to as Allium neapolitanum) is a graceful and low-growing bulb that produces airy umbels of white, starry flowers on slender stems. Blooming in late spring to early summer, it thrives in well-drained soils and full sun to light shade.

Perfect for professional planting schemes where subtle elegance is required. cowanii is often used in naturalistic and biodiverse plantings, municipal beds, or meadow borders. Its long-lasting blooms are excellent for cut flower use, and its early nectar offering attracts bees and hoverflies.

Ideal for mass planting, meadows, civic areas and low maintenance perennial borders.  Naturalises easily with minimal aftercare.
