Description
Allium caeruleum, also known as Blue Globe Onion, is a favourite among landscape professionals for its unique powder-blue colour and fine-textured globes. Flowering in early summer, it produces 3–5 cm rounded blooms atop slender 50–70 cm stems. The foliage dies back early, making it ideal for integrating among perennials or ornamental grasses where the floral impact takes centre stage.
Highly adaptable, caeruleum thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerates drought, and naturalises well, which makes it an excellent candidate for low-maintenance public spaces, commercial grounds, and sustainable planting designs.Bee-friendly and great for ecological planting schemes.
