Description
Anemone Lord Lieutenant is grown for its vivid poppy style flowers and high ornamental value in spring planting. The blooms open wide in cool weather and bring a refined, almost cut flower quality to borders, courtyard containers and sheltered bedding schemes, making this variety useful for professional gardeners, hotel displays and managed gardens that need colour with a cleaner, more polished character. Its rich colouring suits premium spring pots, cut flower beds and sheltered landscape borders where strong jewel tones are wanted. In planting design it works best in fertile, well drained soil in a bright open position or light shelter, where the flowers can be appreciated at close range and used to punctuate low spring planting with strong detail. The open style of the bloom is more useful to early insects than a very dense double flower, so it contributes modest but worthwhile biodiversity interest within mixed spring planting. In Ireland it is particularly effective for spring container programmes, formal beds, seasonal refresh projects and specialist cutting areas where stem quality and flower presentation matter as much as landscape colour.
