Anemone ranunculoides

Anemone ranunculoides

Anemone Species

Description

Anenonome ranunculoides is also known as Yellow Wood Anemone or Buttercup Anemone. The stem of this golden yellow plant is flexible allowing the flower to bend in the wind so it can be sown in windy areas.  The bloom sits atop deeply cut leaves adding a richness to the display. This plant thrives in shaded, moist but well drained areas in borders, beds, or containers and is well suited for underplanting of roses and shrubs.  Mix Anenonome ranunculoides with nemorosa for a bright, low lying display. This anemone is one of the popular naturalizing bulbs. It produces nectar and pollen making it a favourite for the pollinators.
