Description
Tulip Rasta Parrot is not a background tulip. It is a high-colour feature variety for Irish trade planting where the aim is to create attention, energy and immediate visual impact. Each flower carries a vivid mixture of warm and cool tones, with red, orange, yellow, purple and green appearing across the ruffled petals.
This variety is best used deliberately rather than quietly mixed through a pastel planting. Rasta Parrot suits sites where a bold statement is wanted: public garden entrances, large planters, hotel forecourts, civic displays, commercial courtyards, event spaces, wedding venues and premium seasonal beds. The colour range makes it useful for high-energy spring schemes that need to be noticed from a distance, while the curled petal structure rewards closer inspection.
Rasta Parrot also has strong value for cut flower work and display planting. Its irregular colouring means a group of bulbs produces variation within the same display, avoiding the flat look of a single-colour tulip block.
As with other Parrot tulips, Rasta Parrot is best positioned in sheltered beds and planters rather than exposed roadside or verge schemes, as the large ruffled flowers can be vulnerable to wind and heavy rain.
