Tulip Vendeeglobe

Tulip Vendeeglobe

Tulip Vendeeglobe is a late-flowering tulip that produces elegant pointed blooms in variable yellow, with orange and red tones, often with flame markings, giving a vivid and energetic display when planted in groups. Well suited to be planted en masse or drifts in civic beds, park entrances, hotel borders, estate gardens, school grounds, Tidy Towns displays, business frontages and large containers.

Description

Lily-Flowered Tulip Vendeglobe is a late tulip with movement, warmth and natural variation from flower to flower. The flowers have pointed lily-shaped petals and a variable colour range from yellow with orange-red, usually with flamed markings. In a planted group, this gives a lively effect, as individual blooms can show different balances of gold, orange and red.

Tulip Vendeglobe is a good fit for areas where late spring colour needs to be strong but not completely uniform. It works well in civic beds, park entrances, hotel borders, estate gardens, school grounds, Tidy Towns displays, business frontages and large containers. The changing yellow, orange and red tones make it useful for warm public-facing schemes where a single named variety is preferred over a mixed tulip blend.

Tulip Vendeglobe is especially effective in larger groups, where the natural colour variation becomes part of the display rather than a distraction. It combines well with yellow narcissus, red tulips, orange tulips, dark purple tulips, blue muscari and late alliums.

Since lily-flowered tulips have pointed petals and an open, elegant form, Vendeglobe is best placed in reasonably sheltered positions where spring wind and rain are less likely to spoil the flowers.
