Description
Viridiflora Tulip Spring Green is one of the staple varieties in the spring tulip range, valued for its clean colour, dependable style and easy use across many different planting schemes. The flowers are creamy white to ivory white, with a fresh green central flare running through each petal and lance-shaped leaves. The effect is crisp, calm and architectural rather than showy.
Spring Green is a favourite because it fits almost anywhere. It can soften stronger tulip colours, brighten shaded colour schemes, add structure to white and green planting, or act as a quiet link between narcissus, muscari, alliums and later perennials. This tulip combines well with dark purple tulips, soft pink tulips, white narcissus, blue muscari, late alliums and other green-flamed tulips.
Spring Green is particularly useful in estate borders, hotel gardens, civic planters, public garden entrances, courtyard containers, church grounds, memorial gardens, business frontages and Tidy Towns displays. It has enough height and presence for grouped planting, but its colour is restrained enough for premium schemes where red, yellow or orange tulips would feel too harsh. As a Viridiflora tulip, Spring Green flowers late in the tulip season and carries the distinctive green petal markings associated with the group.
