Description
Eremurus himalaicus is a dramatic foxtail lily that produces tall spires of creamy white flowers, bringing a very strong vertical statement to early summer planting. It is best suited to open sunny borders, gravel gardens and premium planting schemes where the flower spike can rise clearly above surrounding material. For horticulturists and landscape designers it offers a very distinctive architectural effect that is particularly useful in larger borders and estate gardens where bold structural plants are needed. In Irish conditions it requires careful siting in free draining soil and benefits from a sheltered, warm position where winter wet is reduced. When established it brings exceptional height and a strong sense of seasonal drama, making it a valuable plant for high impact horticultural schemes.
