Description
Crocus Orange Monarch is a dramatic newcomer to early-spring planting, featuring intensely orange petals with dark, smoky purple bases — a colour scheme rarely seen in crocus cultivars. It blooms in early March and offers bold visual contrast, especially effective in urban spaces, raised beds, and contemporary planting schemes.
Though less suited to mass naturalising, it excels in containers, troughs, and carefully placed clumps in well-drained borders where its colour can shine. This cultivar partners well with darker bulbs like Iris reticulata Harmony, while also holding its own among golden Narcissus Jetfire or white Crocus Jeanne d’Arc for a high-impact, modern spring palette.
