RHSI Bellefield Snowdrop Weekend

I had a chance to visit RHSI Bellefield in Shinrone on Saturday the 8th of February.  It was lovely to see the great display of so many different varieties. A galanthophiles dream, no two ways about it.

The head gardener Paul Smyth gave a very interesting talk about the earlier history of Bellefield, from its original 1,000 acres to its current footprint of 28 acres, what Angela Jupe did to restore some of its former glory and what the RHSI plans are for the future of the site. Read more here

It was lovely to see so many different types of snowdrops from the common Galanthus Nivalis to the Flore Pleno and the yellow varieties.
