Tulip Showwinner

Tulip Showwinner

Tulip Showwinner is a very early dwarf tulip that produces glowing red flowers close to ground level, giving spring displays a clear, confident colour signal before taller tulips take over later in the season. Supplied for spring planting across Ireland, including rockeries, gravel gardens and naturalised sunny planting as well as hotel entrance planters, civic beds, estate border fronts, public garden edges, courtyard containers and compact commercial landscape schemes.

Description

Kaufmanniana Tulip Showwinner is an early-season signal tulip. It is short, bright and direct, making it useful where the first part of the spring display needs to be seen clearly in planters, bed fronts and close-view public spaces. The flowers are glowing red and appear very early in the tulip season.

Showwinner is best used where low spring colour is needed at the front of the display. It suits civic planters, hotel entrances, courtyard containers, estate path edges, public garden fronts, school grounds, rockery-style planting and compact commercial landscapes. Its compact height means it should not be hidden behind taller narcissus or mid-season tulips.

Showwinner works well in repeated groups, where the red flowers form a clean early-season band of colour. It combines effectively with early crocus, blue muscari, low narcissus, white species tulips, yellow Kaufmanniana tulips and simple spring bedding. Kaufmanniana tulips are generally low-growing and very early flowering, opening wide in clear weather to show the inner flower.
