Tulip Queensland

Tulip Queensland

Decorative Tulip Queensland produces rose-pink double flowers with finely cut white fringed edges, giving a full, textured bloom with a polished finish for close-view spring displays. Suited to professional schemes where soft colour, textured flowers and a premium spring finish are required.

Description

Double Fringed Tulip Queensland is sa tulip with fullness, soft colour and strong ornamental detail. The flower combines two specialist features in one variety: a double, peony-style bloom and a finely fringed petal edge. The main colour is rose-pink to reddish-pink, with white fringes cutting around the petal margins. This gives Queensland a frosted, lace-edged appearance that is softer than red or orange fringed tulips but still distinctive enough for grouped planting.

Tulip Queensland is best used where the flower form can be properly seen. It suits hotel entrances, estate paths, courtyard containers, civic planters, public garden borders, business frontages and high-quality commercial landscapes. It is a better choice for premium beds, pots and close-view displays than for rough grass or distant roadside schemes, where the fringed detail would be lost.

Queensland works well as a single-variety feature in containers or formal beds, but it can also be combined with white tulips, pale pink tulips, blue muscari, white narcissus and soft apricot varieties for a calm spring colour scheme.

Because Queensland has full double flowers and fringed edges, it is best placed in reasonably sheltered, cared-for sites where spring wind and rain are less likely to mark the open blooms.
