Tulip National Velvet is a winner with single cup-shaped dark, velvety red petals on top tall stem in a bed of upright, lance-shaped, grey-green foliage. The rich red colour of National Velvet is beautiful planted alone in drifts or make a dramatic scene by mixing with bold purples, yellows, or oranges such as Continental, Jan van Nes or Request. Tulips thrive when planted in a sunny, well-drained area. Tulip National Velvet is an excellent cut flower.
