Description
Tulip Lemon Shoot brings the kind of clean yellow that reads as spring from a distance. It is best used in groups for a confident block effect, either in border drifts or as repeated pots on a patio. The lemon tone also works as a contrast tool: it sharpens purples and plums, lifts whites, and looks fresh with blue companions.
Supplied as a 5-bulb pack and shipped in outers of 5, it is easy to stock, easy to face up in colour blocks, and easy to recommend customers buy multiple packs for a proper display. Plant in autumn once soils cool, in a bright position with good winter drainage; containers are a sensible suggestion on heavier ground.
Tulips are generally not dependable naturalisers in Irish gardens, particularly where winters are wet, so for best results treat as seasonal and replant fresh each year.
Tulips have limited wildlife value, but open flowers can provide small amounts of pollen during mild spells.
