Tulip Holland Chic

Tulip Holland Chic

Mid-spring flowering Triumph tulip with creamy white petals streaked in raspberry-red. Ideal for formal beds, borders, and statement planting schemes.

Description

Tulip Holland Chic is a striking lily-flowering tulip whose creamy white petals are boldly streaked with broad raspberry-red flames, tapering elegantly to pointed tips. The elongated, flared petal shape and contrasting colouration give it a refined, sculptural quality, making it a standout in mid to late spring plantings. Its slender, elegant form brings movement and lightness to the tulip display, particularly when planted where the sun can illuminate the petals from behind.

Growing to around 40–50 cm, Holland Chic thrives in full sun and moderately fertile, free-draining soils that retain spring moisture without becoming waterlogged. It is an excellent choice for formal mixed borders, estate parterres, long driveway avenues, public bedding schemes, and courtyard gardens where elegant structure is a design priority. Its dramatic colour pairing works beautifully alongside the rich purple blooms of  Tulip Negrita, the soft pastel tones of Tulip Menton, or the sapphire-blue of Muscari armeniacum as a ground-level underplanting. For a seamless late-spring transition, plant with Allium Purple Sensation or Camassia leichtlinii Caerulea to extend the floral season into early summer.

While lily-flowering tulips are primarily grown for ornamental value, their open, flared petals can draw pollinator visits on warm spring days, adding a subtle ecological benefit to their high-end visual impact. Ideal for schemes where refinement, height, and late-spring colour precision are essential.
