Description
Tulip Gudoshnick Double is a flamboyant double late tulip with richly layered petals in a warm, sunset-inspired palette of golden yellow, glowing orange, and deep red. The blooms are densely packed with petals, giving them a lush, peony-like form that brings both texture and colour depth to late-spring displays. As the flowers mature, the tones blend and shift, with fiery inner petals peeking out from a golden base — creating a dynamic, ever-changing show in the border.
Reaching 55–60 cm in height, Gudoshnick Double thrives in full sun and moderately fertile, free-draining soils. Its strong stems and weather-tolerant blooms make it an excellent choice for exposed Irish gardens, civic bedding schemes, or large containers where bold, long-lasting late-season colour is needed. Its flowering time makes it ideal for extending tulip displays into May, bridging the gap to early summer perennials.
As a double late variety, pollinator access is limited, but its ornamental value is unmatched in high-impact, formal, or mixed spring designs. For ecological balance, interplant with nectar-rich companions such as allium Rosy Dream or caeruleum, blue camassia, or hardy blue muscari. Pairs beautifully with deep purples, rich crimsons, or pure whites for striking late-season contrasts.
