Tulip Goudstuk

Tulip Goudstuk

Early flowering Kaufmanniana tulip is a low-growing flower with bright yellow and red flowers that open in sunshine, giving the first part of spring a clear splash of colour close to ground level. Suited to planting where compact height, early colour and close-view spring detail are required such as rockeries, front borders, and naturalising in grass.

Description

Kaufmanniana Tulip Goudstuk is a compact early tulip for planting where colour is needed before the main tulip season begins. Its lower height and early flowering habit make it different from taller Fosteriana, Triumph and Parrot tulips. It is best used near paths, entrances, containers and front-of-border positions where the flowers can be seen properly. The flowers are yellow and red, opening wide in sunshine to give the display a bright, lively effect.

Goudstuk is useful where a low, early display is required. It suits courtyard planters, raised beds, rockery-style planting, estate border edges, civic beds, public garden paths, hotel entrance containers, school grounds and compact commercial landscapes. The short height means it should be placed at the front of a scheme rather than behind taller narcissus or later tulips.

Goudstuk works well with early crocus, blue muscari, low narcissus, species tulips, compact Fosteriana tulips and simple spring bedding. It can be planted in repeated groups for a bright early colour signal, or used in containers where the red and yellow flower pattern can be appreciated at close range.
