Tulip Francoise

Tulip Francoise

Elegant single tulip with creamy ivory blooms that fade to white. Ideal for classic beds, structured borders, and refined seasonal displays.

Description

Tulip Francoise is an elegant single Triumph tulip prized for its pale ivory petals that gradually fade to clean white as the bloom matures. This slow colour transformation adds a sense of movement and subtle change across planting schemes, while its tall, upright form lends structure and rhythm to late spring designs. Its classic chalice shape and pure tone make it a staple in both formal and contemporary layouts.

Growing to 45–50 cm, Francoise is suited to full sun or partial shade in moist, free-draining soils with moderate fertility. It is especially valuable for pairing with darker-toned tulips like Queen of Night or mid-season varieties such as Negrita to create tiered or graduated planting schemes. It performs well in borders, civic beds, estate walkways, or in naturalistic meadow-edge bulb planting.

Its single bloom form allows good pollinator access in fine weather, and it can be integrated into biodiversity-friendly planting with late muscari like latifolium, or Camassia quamash that attract hoverflies and solitary bees. A reliable and long-lasting tulip for Irish conditions.
