Tulip Davenport

Tulip Davenport

Tulip Davenport is a bold tulip producing crimson-red flowers finished with a bright golden yellow fringed edge, giving a sharp, decorative spring display with strong colour contrast and excellent close-up detail.

Description

Fringed Tulip Davenport is  a tulip with strong colour, defined edging and a decorative finish that stands apart from standard smooth-petalled varieties. The flowers are cup-shaped and crimson-red, with a bright canary-yellow fringed margin around the petal edges. The fringe gives each bloom a crisp, textured outline, making Davenport especially effective in planting schemes where flower detail will be seen at close range.

Tulip Davenport is best used in high-visibility locations where its red and yellow contrast can work properly. It suits civic planters, park entrances, hotel approaches, estate borders, public garden paths, business frontages, Tidy Towns displays and large containers. The flower is strong enough to be read from a distance, while the fringed edge gives added value for closer inspection.

Davenport can be planted as a single-variety block for a clean red and gold display, or combined with yellow tulips, dark red tulips, blue muscari, late narcissus and purple tulips for a more layered spring scheme.

Fringed tulips are best placed where the petal edging can be appreciated and where exposed spring weather is less likely to damage the open blooms.
