Description
Viridiflora Tulip China Town is suited to customers who want more than flower colour alone. It offers a complete display plant, with patterned foliage at ground level followed by soft pink and green flowers in late spring.
The flowers are pale pink, with green flames running through the petals. The outer petals carry broader green markings, while the inner petals are usually a deeper pink with a narrower green flame.
The foliage is a major selling point. China Town has silver-grey to grey-green leaves, often edged in cream or white, giving ornamental value before the flowers fully open. This makes it stronger for close-view schemes than many taller tulips where the foliage is only background.
Tulip China Town is best used in premium areas where detail matters: hotel entrances, civic containers, estate paths, courtyard planters, public garden edges, business frontages and Tidy Towns displays. Its compact height makes it practical for pots and front-of-border planting, while the pink and green colouring gives a softer finish than bright red, yellow or orange tulips. China Town combines well with pale narcissus, blue muscari, white tulips, soft pink tulips, purple tulips and late alliums.
