Description
Tulip Blue Parrot brings a cooler and more atmospheric colour range to professional spring planting. Where many Parrot tulips rely on orange, red or apricot warmth, Blue Parrot offers violet-blue, lavender, mauve and smoky purple tones, making it particularly useful for schemes that need depth without bright heat. The flowers are large and highly shaped, with frilled, incised and twisted petals that open into a broad, expressive bloom.
Blue Parrot is strongest in close-view locations where its unusual colour and petal movement can be seen properly. Use it in hotel entrances, estate borders, civic planters, courtyard containers, public garden beds, wedding venue displays, business frontages and premium mixed bulb schemes. It is especially effective where a designer wants a cooler alternative to pink, red or orange tulips.
Blue Parrot combines well with white narcissus, cream tulips, silver foliage, purple alliums, blue muscari, pale pink tulips and dark maroon tulips. It can also be used with Apricot Parrot for warm-cool contrast or with Black Parrot for a deeper, more dramatic late spring palette.
Because Parrot tulips have large, ruffled flowers, Blue Parrot is best placed in sheltered beds and planters rather than exposed roadside or verge schemes.
