Description
Tulip Bleu Aimable is a sophisticated Single Late tulip, known for its large, lilac-blue to lavender-mauve blooms with a silken finish and subtle greyish undertones. A historic cultivar with enduring popularity, it flowers in May and reaches 50–60 cm tall. Its muted, cool colour palette makes it ideal for vintage-inspired gardens, romantic drifts, and cool-toned late spring displays.
Thrives in full sun in fertile, free-draining soils with neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Performs particularly well in inland and eastern Irish gardens where light intensity brings out the cool lavender tones. Beautiful in combination with ivory tulips like Ivory Floradale, or dark tones like Queen of Night, for a contrasting spring look.
Moderately beneficial to pollinators when paired with nectar-rich layers . Its open goblet form offers occasional access to hoverflies and late bees.
These bulbs ensure impressive flower size and performance — particularly suited for formal estate beds, floristry work, or late spring landscape displays requiring refinement and contrast.
