Tulip Banja Luka 11/12

Tulip Banja Luka 11/12

A bold red and yellow Darwin tulip for public beds, spring schemes, and high-impact landscape planting.

Description

Tulip Banja Luka is a vibrant, large-flowered Darwin Hybrid tulip with yellow petals boldly flamed in bright red. Standing 55–60 cm tall and flowering mid-spring (April), it’s built for large-scale visibility and resilience. The flower structure is robust and long-lasting, performing well in exposed beds, civic borders, and formal municipal layouts.

Grow in full sun in rich, well-drained soil—ideally neutral or slightly acidic loam. This cultivar thrives in Irish weather, from breezy coasts to sheltered city squares. Pair with yellow daffodils like Narcissus Carlton, Tulip  Apeldoorn, or late Hyacinths for saturated spring impact.

While only faintly fragrant, its wide-open flower form provides landing access for pollinators. In mixed species beds, it supports pollinator movement and contributes to a functional flowering scaffold in biodiversity-enhancing planting.

The dramatic bicolour makes it ideal for civic schemes, commercial entrances, public parks, and avenue-style border planting. Performs particularly well under mechanical planting conditions, where uniformity and strength are needed.
