Description
Tulip Apricot Parrot is best understood as a soft-coloured show tulip rather than a bright bedding tulip. It has the dramatic ruffled flower form of the Parrot group, but its colour palette is warmer and more layered, making it useful for premium Irish planting schemes where strong detail is needed without harsh colour. The flowers open in apricot and pink tones, then reveal a shifting mix of ivory, yellow, salmon-pink and green as the petals expand.
Apricot Parrot is most effective in close-view positions. Use it in hotel entrances, estate borders, courtyard containers, public garden beds, civic planters, wedding venue displays and high-quality commercial landscapes. It is well suited to schemes where visitors will notice the petal texture, colour variation and open flower form.
This variety combines well with cream tulips, soft pink tulips, white narcissus, blue muscari, dark purple tulips and late alliums. It can also be paired with Black Parrot for stronger contrast or with pastel tulips for a softer, more romantic display.
Because Parrot tulips have large, open, ruffled flowers, Apricot Parrot is better placed in sheltered beds and planters rather than exposed verge planting.
