Description
Tulip Amberglow is a richly toned Triumph tulip that delivers exceptional depth of colour in Irish spring light. Its 40–45 cm stems support broad, slightly cupped flowers in an amber-bronze blend of copper, honey-gold, and russet red — a hue that changes subtly depending on light levels and viewing angle. Flowering from early to mid-April, Amberglow brings warmth and complexity to both formal and naturalistic layouts.
This tulip thrives in full sun or partial shade and is particularly valuable in west-facing or low-angle morning-light borders, where its molten colour really glows. Plant in fertile, well-drained loam with neutral pH — avoid areas prone to winter standing water. Superb for cottage-style beds, mixed perennial borders, or high-end urban courtyards. Its compact size also makes it suitable for containers.
Amberglow pairs beautifully with creamy white Tulips like Purissima, soft blues such as Muscari Baby’s Breath, or late Narcissus Cheerfulness. Also effective with rich purple tones like Tulip Ronaldo or under deciduous shrubs that allow spring sun.
While not overtly fragrant, the flowers are accessible to pollinators due to their open mid-season form. In mixed schemes, it supports hoverflies and bees if paired with nectar-rich companions like forget-me-nots. Its strong stems and weather resistance also make it a reliable option for windy or exposed beds.
For visual continuity, plant in drifts of 10–15 bulbs across pathways or in layered tiers.
