Description
Triteleia Blue-White is valued for its light, floating flower clusters that add a gentle lift between spring bulbs and early summer perennials. The blooms form in small starry heads held above slender stems, creating a soft, elegant effect rather than a heavy block of colour. This makes it particularly useful in mixed borders, gravel gardens and meadow style planting where finer texture is wanted.
It is best planted in groups or drifts so the airy stems read as a cloud of colour. The blue white tones sit well with alliums, muscari, nepeta, hardy geraniums and low grasses, and it also works well in pots where the stems can move naturally in the breeze. As a cut flower it suits smaller arrangements, adding lightness and a natural look.
Plant corms in autumn for best flowering, in full sun to light shade with free draining soil. In heavier Irish ground, improve drainage with grit or plant into raised beds. Water during establishment, then keep moisture moderate. After flowering, allow foliage to fade naturally to recharge the corms for the following year. Over time, clumps can increase, improving the display each season.
