Description
A box of 10 Echinacea White is also known as ‘Coneflower’. The Echinacea purpurea produces striking white daisy-like flowers with a central cone in the summer. They stand out because of their size and bright white colour: a combination of an orange-brown heart surrounded by contrasting white petals. Even when the flower has finished flowering and the white discoloured leaves hang down, this flower still has ornamental value. An additional attraction is that during flowering countless bumblebees and butterflies come and go. Echinacea is suitable for drift growing in cottage style or herbaceous borders or mixed among grasses. The should be planted in a sunny position in fertile soil that is not too wet. Give this plant a 3- to 4 cm layer of compost each fall so it doesn’t have to fight too hard with other species for nutrients. Cut back in the spring when new foliage emerges.
