Scilla siberica Alba 7/8

Scilla siberica Alba 7/8

White-flowered form of Siberian Squill. Compact, shade-tolerant, and ideal for soft spring colour in lawns, gravel, or woodland planting.

Description

Scilla siberica Alba is the pure white form of the classic Siberian Squill, offering the same compact habit and early flowering but with crisp, snow-white nodding blooms. Flowering from February into March, it provides a refreshing counterpoint to the more common blues and purples of early spring.

Like its blue counterpart, Alba is excellent for naturalising in lawns, under trees, or weaving through rockeries and gravel areas. It thrives in free-draining soils in sun or part shade and performs well in both formal and informal planting schemes.

Use it to create clean white drifts beneath early-blossoming trees, or combine with other pale-flowered bulbs for cool-toned spring planting. Scilla siberica Alba also excels in modern urban schemes and heritage gardens alike where early structure and quiet beauty are required.

Low maintenance, fully hardy, and a valuable early nectar source, this variety is perfect for creating soft, elegant spring layers.
