Organic Tulip Columbus

Organic Tulip Columbus

Organic Tulip Columbus is a showy pink petals and white edging, early double tulip giving early spring schemes a bright, polished bicolour effect with excellent close-view appeal. Makes an impact planted in hotel entrances, civic beds, estate borders, courtyard containers, public garden displays and premium commercial landscapes or anywhere early spring colour, full double flowers, pink-and-white contrast and premium public-facing display value are required. Sustainably sourced.

Description

Organic Tulip Columbus is a classic, compact bicolour tulip for planting where early spring display needs fullness, colour contrast and a neat premium finish. It offers a different effect from soft pastel double tulips: the colour is stronger, the white edge is clearer and the full flower form gives each bloom extra substance in planters and managed beds. The flowers are double and peony-shaped, with reddish-pink petals edged in white.

Columbus is best used where the flower can be seen properly rather than lost in distant planting. It suits hotel entrance containers, estate borders, civic planters, courtyard displays, public garden beds, wedding venue planting, commercial frontages and formal seasonal schemes. The pink-and-white colour combination gives a clean, decorative effect, while the double flower form adds more presence than a single early tulip.  Early tulips generally flower early in spring and have extra petals that give a rose-like or peony-like appearance, but the fuller flowers are best used in managed beds, containers and sheltered sites rather than exposed verge schemes.

Columbus combines well with white narcissus, cream tulips, blue muscari, pale pink tulips, dark purple tulips and soft lilac tulips. In mixed displays, it works as a brighter bicolour partner to softer varieties such as Dreamer or as a clean contrast beside darker tulips.
