Description
Organic Narcissus recurvus, also known as the Pheasant’s Eye daffodil, is a historic poeticus cultivar with elegant white petals and a tiny, red-rimmed yellow eye. Blooming in late spring, it reaches 35–45 cm and brings a graceful, refined finish to the daffodil season. Highly fragrant, it offers strong appeal to humans and insects alike.
This cultivar prefers moist but well-drained soils with organic matter, thriving in sun or partial shade. It is perfect for old estate gardens, riverside borders, and naturalised woodland edges, particularly in areas seeking layered floral sequences into May. It is exceptionally attractive to pollinators, especially hoverflies and late-flying solitary bees.
A heritage cultivar suited for rewilding estates, organic conservation projects, or eco-sensitive garden restorations. Pairs beautifully with blue Camassia, Allium sphaercephalon, or late-flowering tulips like Ronaldo.
