Bio Echinacea Purpurea Magnus

Bio Echinacea Purpurea Magnus is an organic grown echinacea prepack for long summer flowering and strong pollinator value. Ideal for Irish borders, prairie style planting and cutting, supplied as prepacks in outers of 5.

Description

Bio Echinacea Purpurea Magnus is a cornerstone perennial for summer and early autumn, bringing bold daisy like flowers with a raised central cone that holds structure and colour for weeks. It is one of the best choices for biodiversity focused planting because it attracts bees and other pollinators, and it also provides seed interest later in the season if customers leave some heads to mature. The organic production adds extra appeal for gardeners prioritising environmentally mindful choices.

Magnus works exceptionally well in prairie style schemes and mixed borders where a strong mid border plant is needed. The sturdy stems and repeat flowering make it valuable for cutting, while the central cones give visual texture even after petals start to fade. It pairs well with ornamental grasses, rudbeckia, salvia, verbena, achillea and late flowering perennials, creating a long season display that still looks good in September and October.

Plant in spring in full sun for best flowering. Echinacea prefer well drained soil and dislike winter wet, so good drainage is important in Irish conditions. Water to establish, then allow the plant to settle into a deeper root system. Avoid overly rich, soft growth. Deadhead for continued flowering, or leave some seedheads for structure and wildlife value.
