Description

When most of the flowers in the garden start to wilt, Nerine ‘Bowdenii Alba’ (September-October) will flower. The bloom can last quite a while if the weather permits. The flowers are white and stand on tall, leafless, fairly sturdy stems Narrow petals curl back Trumpet-shaped flowers in umbels with protruding stamens. The foliage usually appears late in the fall when the flowers open at the base of the plant. The flowers are very suitable as cut flowers but also suitable for use in the flower garden and in pots. They grow to approximately 50 cm in height. Plant the bulbs in the spring after the last frost. Plant them about 15cm. deep and a 10 cm. apart. The Nerine likes a sunny, sheltered position.
